The Alice Savage Elementary school is a beautiful stone building dating back to 1940 and constructed by the WPA. Near the staircase leading to the entrance to the school this tree is dedicated to Jacqueline Rainwater.

The date shown on the plaque is her date of death at the age of 47. We assume she was a beloved teacher or principal of this school.
