The Santa Fe Depot stands at the corner of E. Broadway and Harvey Avenue (301 E. Broadway) on the east side of Drumright. The Santa Fe and Oil Field Railroad was the first line to come into the Cushing Oil Field area in June 1915. This depot was completed on January 1, 1916 and began freight and passenger service to the Cushing Oilfield. Operations were curtailed significantly in the 1930's when oil production fell off, but service continued until 1946 with passenger and equipment, and until 1964 with freight.
The railroad sold the depot to the City of Drumright in 1964, when it was refurbished and made into the Drumright Oil Field Museum. Today it is operated as the Drumright Historical Society Museum. The museum has displays of photos, documents and historical artifacts of Drumright's history, specifically as related to the oilfield boom which established Drumright as a town, including original oil boom equipment, and a wood drilling rig.
The depot has its original wood clapboard siding and is 24 x 104 feet, with 13 ft. ceilings. The roof is gabled with extended eaves supported by scrolled brackets. The windows are 6-over-6 double hung with two freight doors on the east and one on the west. On the museum grounds are quite a few displays of oilfield equipment dating back to the boom, as well as farm equipment, and an artillery piece.
