DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (WER) THE STATION IS APPROXIMATELY 0.75 MILE WEST OF TARENTUM, 0.25 MILE EAST OF THE SACRED HEART CEMETERY, 0.15 MILE SOUTHWEST OF THE SLAVISH CEMETERY AND ON A RIDGE ALONG THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE ALLEGHENY RIVER, ON PROPERTY OWNED BY MR. JOE AND HARRY FINDON. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE YMCA BUILDING IN TARENTUM, GO SOUTH 0.1 MILE TO EAST STREET JUST AFTER PASSING NICKS CHEVROLET GARAGE ON THE RIGHT, TURN RIGHT ON EAST STREET AND GO UPHILL 0.25 MILE TO FORKS, TAKE RIGHT FORK AND GO 0.9 MILE TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT AT THE EAST CORNER OF SACRED HEART CEMETERY, TURN LEFT AND GO 0.05 MILE TO DRIVEWAY TO A HOUSE WITH A GARAGE BUILDING IN FRONT, TURN LEFT AND GO AROUND THE EAST SIDE OF HOUSE, THEN BEAR RIGHT UPHILL THROUGH ORCHARD FOR 0.7 MILE TO HIGHEST POINT OF HILL AND STATION. STATION MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS STAMPED TARENTUM 1958. THE SURFACE DISK IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 27.6 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST FROM LARGE POLE WITH RADIO ANTENNA ON THE TOP AND A LARGE BOX WITH TELEPHONE IN IT USED BY THE TARENTUM POLICE. THE UNDERGROUND DISK IS SET IN AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE 34 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 A STANDARD DISK STAMPED TARENTUM NO 1 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 2 INCHES. IT IS 2 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST FROM POLE WITH ANTENNA ON TOP. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 A STANDARD DISK STAMPED TARENTUM NO 2 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 58 FEET WEST FROM POLE WITH ANTENNA ON TOP. AZIMUTH MARK A STANDARD DISK STAMPED TARENTUM 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 17 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF A TELEPHONE POLE, 27 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 28 AND 92 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF MASOLEUM. A STANDARD WITNESS POST WAS SET 4.6 FEET NORTH OF THE MARK. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH MARK FROM THE YMCA BUILDING IN TARENTUM GO NORTH ON STATE HIGHWAY 28 0.75 MILE TO AZIMUTH MARK ON THE RIGHT IN THE WEST SIDE OF PROSPECT CEMETERY.

To reach the mark from the intersection of Ross Street and East Seventh Street in Tarentum, go north on Ross Street for 0.15 mile to a side road right. Turn right and go northeast on East Tenth Street for 0.6 mile to the mark on the right in Prospect Cemetery. The mark is 27 feet southeast of the center line of the northeastbound lanes of Tenth Street, 7.9 feet west of a monument inscribed ---DETHAMPLE---, and 1 inch below the surface of the ground.
