De Heilig Grafkapel wordt in 1647 gebouwd door Herman Jekermans, na een pelgrimstocht naar Jeruzalem (1644-1645), en was een kopie van de Heilig Grafkapel aldaar. Tezelfdertijd wordt langsheen de wegen van Neerkanne een kruisweg gemaakt met dertien staties in de vorm van kapelletjes; de Heilig Grafkapel fungeerde als laatste statie.

The Heilig Graf chapel was built in 1647 by Herman Jekermans, after a pilgrimage to Jerusalem (1644-1645), and was a copy of the Holy Sepulcher there. At the same time, along the roads of Neerkanne, a crossroad is made with thirteen stations in the form of chapels; the Holy Sepulcher functioned as the last station.
