FURSAC en langage courant désigne le nom d'une agglomération formée par deux bourgs contigus. Son origine est Gallo-
Romaine, son nom est formé d'un nom d'homme et du suffixe Acus.

A l'époque Mérovingienne, son importance était telle qu’elle possédait un atelier monétaire et était chef-lieu de Vicairie administrative. Son patrimoine est riche et divers.

Eglise* : Paulhac avec la Commanderie des Templiers et sa Chapelle Saint Fiacre* au portail flamboyant Fontaines - Lavoirs - Légendes.
