Pender's Music grew from humble beginnings in Denton, TX. Founded by bandleader Harold Gore in 1967, the original store outgrew several locations in Denton. The Oklahoma City store, opened in 1993, is the second Pender's Music location. A third store opened in 2007 in Carrollton, TX.

The store sells sheet music and music books, but not pre-recorded music or instruments. You can find sheet music for just about every instrument imaginable here, and if you can't find it they can order it for you. The last time I was here I needed an obscure piece of piano music and they were able to "print on demand" right there in the store for a quite reasonable price.
