NOTE: The coordinates shown above are at the northeast corner of the park by the pond and the WPA-built stone wall. The wood park sign as shown is on the west side of the park by the swimming pool.

Memorial Park was originally built by the WPA in 1935. Native stone walls, entrances, and bridges can be found throughout the park. During the 1950's, a major remodel was conducted. A pond was prepared on the east side of the park, with an island known as Liberty Island. We saw a stone obelisk with a plaque which once held a Statue of Liberty, but alas, it is gone now. Walk over the bridge to the island and you will be surrounded by friendly ducks, geese and squirrels, looking for a handout.

As you walk around the park, you will see a picnic pavilion, gazebos, and various playground areas. On the north side of the park, a skate park is available for the brave. The park has a disc golf course, sand volleyball, and baseball. There is a splashpad, wading pool, and full sized pool with swim lanes, and a three-tiered ramp with 5 pool slides.

The park is the gathering place for many Cushing community activities. There are fireworks on the 4th, concerts throughout the year, and the annual Festival in the Park with entertainment, craft booths, food and activities for the children. This year is their 29th Annual Festival. The Park itself only has a Facebook page, but if you search the park online, you will find numerous websites for its events.
