This milestone can be found on the B940 Crail to Cupar road in the East Neuk of Fife, two miles from the coastal town of Crail. It lies on a stretch of the road heading north-westwards on the left verge heading from Crail, near to the entrance of Muirhead Farm.
Like the other milestones on the route, it is of white whinstone with a cast-iron cap depicting the placenames in black abbreviated cursive script lettering.
The places listed are consistent with the other milestones, namely the hamlet of Peat Inn, village of Ceres, and town of Cupar. Crail is listed alone on the other side and the number two, signifying the number of stone from Crail, is listed on the top. The stone is in reasonable condition, although slightly worn.
