This headstone for the Lee's is a steeply angled, polished dark grey/black marble tablet, with the shape of an opened book, courtesy of the unpolished edges to make it look like the edges of pages. The left-hand side inscription is for the husband, Bill, who died on 30th March, 1989, aged 85 years. The bottom part of the inscription states that they were the parents of Jane, Anne and Jeffrey.
The right-hand side of the headstone is for this Centenarian, and reads:
ELIZABETH
Loving Wife of
BILL
Died 2. March 2009
Aged 103 years
* Having been born in the early 1900's she would have seen much change, even through to when she married Bill. She would have been in Primary School for the start and duration of World War One. (Unknown as to whether she was in South Australia at that time.)
* She would have lived through 'The Great Depression' between the wars, and then possibly had to suffer having children go to World War 2.
