The monument consists of 2 blocks of 3x 2,35x 0,6 M, - concrete,
weight: 16 tonnes that face each other, make each other's positive and negative.
One element has grown out of the other. ... there is no end to this interaction.
In the depiction of the relief part the human figure is important fragmentarily and life-sized, this is the symbolic expression of going and coming ... a
to happen timelessly.

Man as a messenger, pilgrim, the eternal confirmation of Life, movement, change,
..and metaphor of an evolution process.
Obtained by moulage on live model of 1 man and 1 woman, is the whole composition
molded in clay and full-size, - subsequently cast in polyester, - converted into production molds and executed in concrete.
The female figure makes a rotating movement around her own axis and in the longitudinal direction
of the block. Is therefore in motion. The male figure, on the other hand, apparently has a different kind of dynamic.

The entire production process was done consciously in public.
The carillon of the basilica was alternately played by Raf during every 'demolition' or detachment
Verjans and city carillonneur J.Lenaerts.

From the mother statue in Tongeren, -posted and inaugurated on June 22, 85 are 10 copies
molded and offered to the Roman twin cities:

Nijmegen, -Maastricht, - Heerlen (NL) 1985-1986
Cologne, - Trier (D) 1987
