For years, my husband has raved about a sandwich that he used to get at a restaurant near his work. After he retired, we went to that restaurant to satisfy his craving and found out that it had closed. So, he has been mourning the loss of one of his favorite sandwiches for over 10 years....until now. We found that another local restaurant, La Cantina, also makes this sandwich called a gizmo. I finally got to taste one and I have to say it was delicious, kind of like a cheeseburger sub with the addition of fried ham. So, now we have a new favorite pizza place (although we like the gizmos!), La Cantina.

The Russo familia experience goes back forty plus years. After coming to the United States in the 1970s as a young-man, owner Salvatore Russo gained his experience in the business over years of working, owning, and operating many restaurants all along the eastern seaboard. Settling in southeastern Pennsylvania, Mr. Russo and his son Vincent established two locations. Each restaurant offers their own unique touch of Italian cuisine. Their locations are Slice of Italy in Terre Hill, and La Catina in Mohnton.
