"L'église Saint-Patern est située à l'angle de la rue de la Fontaine et de la rue Saint-Patern. Elle remplace un ancien édifice du 10e siècle qui abritait les reliques de Saint Patern, premier évêque de l'évêché de Vannes et un des sept saints fondateurs de Bretagne.
Ce premier édifice détruit par les Normands avait été remplacé au 11e siècle par un édifice roman qui vit sa tour s'effondrer en 1721 et le reste de l'église 5 ans plus tard.
L'église actuelle a été construite par l'architecte vannetais Olivier Delourme de 1727 à 1772 (la nef) et 1826 (la tour).
Les vitraux du chœur de 1737 sont remplacés en 1882 puis en 1918. Le vitrail de la porte nord, "le Christ entouré de huit enfants" est de 1923 offert par la famille Le Mitier de Léhélec.
On peut admirer 6 retables, notamment le retable de la Sainte-Parenté (transept nord) et celui de Saint-Isidore (transept sud) qui datent du 18e siècle. Le retable de la Résurrection du Christ, au fond du chœur agrandi en 1925, date de 1744. La chaire à prêcher est de 1813.
La dernière restauration de 2006 et 2007 a consolidé l'édifice, apporté des stalles du 17e, et valorisé la statue de l'Enfant Jésus de Prague."

"The Saint-Patern church is located at the corner of rue de la Fontaine and rue Saint-Patern, replacing an old 10th century building that housed the relics of Saint Patern, the first bishop of the bishopric of Vannes and one of the seven founding saints of Brittany.
This first building destroyed by the Normans had been replaced in the 11th century by a Romanesque building which saw its tower collapse in 1721 and the rest of the church 5 years later.
The current church was built by the architect Olivier Delourme Vannet from 1727 to 1772 (the nave) and 1826 (the tower).
The stained glass windows of the 1737 choir were replaced in 1882 and again in 1918. The window of the north door, "Christ surrounded by eight children", was donated by the Lehelier family of Léhélec in 1923.
We can admire 6 altarpieces, including the altarpiece of Sainte-Parenté (northern transept) and that of Saint-Isidore (southern transept) dating back to the 18th century. The altarpiece of the Resurrection of Christ, in the depths of the choir enlarged in 1925, dates from 1744. The pulpit to preach is from 1813.
The last restoration of 2006 and 2007 consolidated the building, brought stalls of the 17th, and enhanced the statue of the Child Jesus of Prague. "
