Long Description:
While driving home from work the "long way" I encountered this turtle on South Rockwell Avenue, a two-lane country road in this area northwest of the airport. It didn't look like a box turtle, so I identify it as a red-eared slider, which is probably the most common turtle in Oklahoma. I saw him (her?) safely to the other side of the road.
