The Great Fish Pond in s'Herenelderen is a private water with public character. All those who practice angling on the large pond must be in possession of a valid fishing permit from the Flemish Community and a membership card from the Koninklijke Tongerse Lijnvissers (abbreviated as: K.T.L.V.). The fisherman is consequently subject to the legislation on river fishing of 1954 and the BVE (1992) on river fishing + the resulting decisions, applicable to public fishing waters in Flanders. The supplementary guidelines listed below, established by internal regulations for fishing angling on the large and small fish ponds by the Royal Tongeren Lijnvissers and the City of Tongeren, also apply and this without the legislation on river fishing and the BVE on river fishing and the resulting decisions, apply on the public fishing waters in Flanders.
The small fish pond in Gent is a private water with no public character. All those who practice angling on the small pond should have a membership card of the K.T.L.V. . Consequently, they are not subject to the legislation on river fishing of 1954 and B.V.E (1992) to river fishing + the resulting decisions, applicable to public fishing waters in Flanders. As a consequence, only the internal order rules below apply.
