Since autumn 2004, there has been a 766 m long planetary hiking trail on the footpath from the visitors' car park to the radio telescope with information boards on the planets of our solar system and on the sun itself.
It begins at the parking lot with the dwarf planet Pluto, leads over the outer solar system with four gas planets into the inner solar system with four rock planets, to which also our earth belongs. It ends with a model of the sun (concrete sphere of almost 40 cm diameter) directly at the visitor pavilion of the radio telescope.
This results in a scale of 1 : 7. 7 billion. 1 cm corresponds to 77000 km or 6 times the earth diameter. On this scale Pluto is 766 meters away from the sun.

Visit Instructions:
To post a visit to a solar system model, please include at least one picture of the model, preferably from a different perspective from the other photos already taken. You and/or your GPS unit need not be in it. More photos are encouraged. Please also describe your visit in the log. If you cannot take a photo, then please describe your visit well enough so that readers can form a "mental picture".
