Planetárium Ostrava bylo otevreno v roce 1980 jako soucást Bánské mericské základny, v roce 2000 prejmenováno na Hvezdárnu a Planetárium Johanna Palisy a po rozsáhlé rekonstrukci získalo v roce 2015 svuj soucasný název.

The Planetarium in Ostrava was opened in 1980 as part of the Mining Meter Base, renamed the Johann Palis Observatory and Planetarium in 2000, and after its extensive reconstruction, it acquired its current name in 2015.
