Many towns, cities and universities in Western Canada now have Bike Repair Stations. They have become especially prevalent in recreational areas such as Canmore, Alberta, a tourist town in the Canadian Rockies. Canmore is home to many miles of mountain bike trails and, in the summer, Canmore's Nordic Center, built as a ski and cross country centre, is turned over to the two wheeled vehicles.

At present there are three Bike Repair Stations in Canmore, this one, named the FIXIT, is a product of Dero, a manufacturer of bicycle related hardware. We didn't search for the other two reputed to be present, but assume them to have been made by Dero, as well.

The "FIXIT" can be found on the southwest side of 10th Street, between Railway and Gateway Avenues, west of Save On Foods and almost directly in front of the entrance to Riverstone Insurance at number 101 10th Street. Across the street is Sports Experts.

The Fixit includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The tools are securely attached to the stand with stainless steel cables and tamper-proof fasteners. Hanging the bike from the hanger arms allows the pedals and wheels to spin freely while making adjustments.

Add your choice of an Air Kit bike pump (sold separately) to keep your cyclists' tires topped up and ready to roll.
