Le Geer est un cours d’eau classé de première catégorie. Ce cours d’eau est long de +/-75Kms sur trois tronçons situés en région Wallonne.
La société du Bas-Geer existe depuis environ 1932, date la plus ancienne retrouvée dans mes archives. En effet le premier Franc- pêcher paru 1956, soulignait le combat mené par la société des pêcheurs du Bas-Geer depuis 1932 contre les diverses pollutions causées notamment par les nombreuses usines implantées en amont (Waremme – Hologne – Oreye…). Cette société compte à ce jour une centaine de membres.

Fourni par la Région wallonne, un panneau didactique vient d’être installé à Bassenge en bordure de la Via Jecore à proximité du bras mort du Geer, pêcherie gérée par les Pêcheurs du Bas-Geer (derrière parking Aldi)

Geer is a first class watercourse. This watercourse is +/- 75 km long on three sections located in the Walloon region.
The society of Bas-Geer exists since about 1932, oldest date found in my archives. Indeed, the first Francisccher published in 1956, underlined the fight waged by the Bas-Geer fishermen's society since 1932 against the various pollution caused by the numerous factories located upstream (Waremme - Hologne - Oreye, etc.). This company currently has a hundred members.


A didactic panel has been installed in Bassenge on the edge of Via Jecore near the dead meander of the river Geer, a fishery managed by the fishermen of Bas-Geer
