FR Place Albertas
La rue Espariat traverse la place Albertas. Elle fut tracée en 1745-1746 par Jean-Baptiste d’Albertas devant l’hôtel construit par son père
C'est une petite place mais on peut y voir
  • n°10 Hôtel d’Albertas
    La superbe demeure du marquis Henri Reynaud d’Albertas
    L’élévation de la façade et les décors vieillissants de style Louis XIII de l’ancien hôtel de Séguiran ne répondaient plus, au temps de la Régence, au goût du marquis d’Albertas. Il fit rénover la façade en 1724, et plus tard son fils Jean-Baptiste, déplorant que l’hôtel soit encaissé dans une rue étroite, fit non sans difficulté l’acquisition des maisons qui lui faisaient face, qui furent rasées en 1745. Ce dégagement permit la création d’une place semi-élliplique à l’ordonnancement classique.
  • Fontaine d’Albertas
    La fontaine a été réalisée par l’École des arts et métiers en 1912. Vasque en fonte, style baroque et « rococo ». La fontaine de la Place d’Albertas fut construite au milieu d’une Place du XVIIIe, en 1912. Elle présente un bassin circulaire bordé de ferronneries qui recueille l’eau retombant d’une vasque elle-même supportée par un piédestal sculpté de feuilles, de guirlandes et de rosaces.

    L'un des immeuble qui donne sur la place aurait autrefois accueilli un bordel comme en témoigne les protections des fenêtres

Spariat Street crosses Albertas Square. It was traced in 1745-1746 by Jean-Baptiste d'Albertas in front of the hotel built by his father.

  • n°10 Albertas Hotel
    The superb residence of the Marquis Henri Reynaud d'Albertas The elevation of the façade and the ageing decorations in the Louis XIII style of the former Hôtel de Séguiran no longer met the taste of the Marquis d'Albertas during the Regency. He had the facade renovated in 1724, and later his son Jean-Baptiste, deploring that the hotel was cashed in a narrow street, not without difficulty acquired the houses facing him, which were razed to the ground in 1745. This clearance allowed the creation of a semi-elliptical place to the classical scheduling.
  • Fontaine d'Albertas The fountain was built by the École des arts et métiers in 1912. Cast iron basin, baroque and rococo style. The fountain in Albertas Square was built in the middle of an 18th century square in 1912. It has a circular basin lined with ironwork that collects water falling from a basin itself supported by a pedestal carved with leaves, garlands and rosettes.
  • A building with a naughty story
    One of the buildings overlooking the square would once have hosted a brothel, as evidenced by the window protections
