At the self guided trail at the Very large array center you will find these two parabolic dishes. When standing in front of one of the dishes you can clearly hear someone speaking even from a far distance. When I visited the center alone a familiy helped me demonstrating it by speaking very quietly aprox 165 feet away. I could clearly hear what they were saying as if they were standing right next to me.
