This headstone is quite different from the usual Woodmen of the World grave markers. The family name, "Paulk", is on the plinth, and it features a hand with a cross, reaching down from Heaven to point downward, holding the inscription scroll, with "Asleep in Jesus" wrapping around the top and one side. The inscription reads:
