On a hiking trail north of the former government bunker near Ahrweiler there is a wayside shrine with an inscription plate. The board bears the text "Wanderer gedenke den Deinen" (Hiker, commemorate your loved ones).
In the wayside shrine there is a small wooden cross carrying a cast bronze Christ figure.
The roof is covered with copper plates.
Through a filling of the footpath, the cross stands on the slope next to the path, offset downwards on the valley side, and therefore appears inconspicuous.
