The bridge is a Historic England Grade II Listed Building.

"Canal aqueduct. C.1830. Thomas Telford and Alexander Easton, engineers. Coursed sandstone, rusticated to soffit; late C20 red brick parapet to west side and railings to.east. Wide round-headed arch to tunnel with low imposts carried through as string courses and voussoirs struck through continuously to soffit; steeply inclined and angled revetment walls to east and west with stone coping. A straight flight of steps to south-west gives access from road to canal. This stretch of canal formerly formed part of the Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal (Act passed 1826, opened 1835), which was absorbed by the Ellesmere and Chester Canal in 1845 and eventually became part of the Shropshire Union in 1846. Despite the parapet to west side, still an impressive structure. V.C.H. II, ( 1967), p.295; Charles Hadfield, The Canals of the West Midlands, (1966), Pp.183-9." link
