The Corowa railway station was built at the end of a spur line from Culcairn in 1890 - 1892 in response to the Victorian Government extending a line to Wahgunyah some years earlier.
The Corowa station is constructed of brick, laid in the English bond pattern, with an iron roof and included a general and ladies' waiting room. A verandah at the front of station building has a curved tin roof and is supported by cast iron columns with decorative iron lace brackets and trim. The platform verandah is supported on large cantilevered steel brackets
