Bethesda Church was believed to be built in 1782 by Thomas Lloyd III and was intended to be a non-denominational church. However, in 1827, the church was accepted by the Philadephia Baptist Association along with all of its members.

Many of the tombstones in the cemetery contain the name Lloyd so it seems that they were relatives of the minister. The remaining tombstones, many of them unreadable, are guessed to be of people associated with the furnace.
Name of church or churchyard: Bethesda Church

Approximate Size: Small (11-50)
