This sculpture garden is the place that inspired me to create this category. It is an absolutely magical place. So much so that even my 12 year old son was awestruck.
Art Outside/Webster's Woods presents more than 75 sculptures throughout Webster's Woods, a five-acre estate providing a singular natural setting that highlights the unique Olympic Peninsula ecology. Works are rotated on an ongoing basis, with a major renewal each May. A mix of works by widely recognized masters and innovative emerging artists using a wide range of art media and aesthetic approaches are presented.
Webster's Woods has been awarded a Spotlight Award of Excellence by the Washington Recreation and Park Association. The Award seeks out the best new park projects in Washington municipalities and PAFAC's unique art woods was one of the four singled out for recognition.
The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center (PAFAC) created Webster's Woods in 2000, adjacent to the Webster Building which houses PAFAC's gallery. Gallery hours are 11-5pm in the Spring and Summer and 10-4pm in the Winter and Fall. The Art Outside Exhibit is open during daylight hours year round. Admission to both is free.
While you're there be sure to do the "A Walk in Webster Woods" multi-stage geocache. (GCGWFA)
