Monument in high relief bearing the coat of arms of The Rt. Hon. Lady Abigail Sherard, who apparently re-roofed the chancel of St Andrew's church, Whissendine, in 1640.
It shows on the the arms of Sherard (Ar. between three torteaux a chevron) impaling Cave (Az. fretty Ar.). It is supported by Dexter: A sheep, Sinister: A greyhound, and is crested with a barons coronet with ermine.
It was found in several pieces and put back together like a giant jigsaw puzzle.

The inscription below reads:

NEW ROWFT THIS CHANCELL
ANNO DOMINI 1640
