Sie ist schön, sie ist lehrreich und sie zieht die Blicke an: Eine Weltkugel aus Edelstahl ziert seit kurzem den Eingangsbereich des Ökologisch- Botanischen Gartens (ÖBG) der Universität Bayreuth.
„Diese Weltkugel hat der Freundeskreis ÖBG der Universität und dem Garten spendiert“, so der Leiter des Ökologisch-Botanischen Gartens, Privatdozent Dr. Gregor Aas. Der stilisierte Globus misst im Durchmesser 2,5 Meter, ist aus Edelstahl gefertigt und zeigt die Klimazonen der Erde. „Die neue Weltkugel ist Teil der nun fast abgeschlossenen Umgestaltung des Eingangsbereichs zum ÖBG, an dem wir seit einigen Jahren arbeiten, um diesen freundlicher für die Besucher zu gestalten“, so Aas weiter. Die Weltkugel dient als zentraler Punkt im Garten, als Treffpunkt und als Ort für die Einführungen zu Gartenführungen.

The new globe is part of the now almost completed redesign of the entrance to the ÖBG, on which we have been working for several years to make it more friendly for the visitors. The globe serves as a central point in the garden, as a meeting place and as a place for introductions to garden tours.
