Selma Simon wurde 1870 in Mannheim geboren. 1942 musste sie sich mit dem Rest ihres Vermögens ein „gesichertes Alter“ in der Judenstadt Theresienstadt erkaufen. Dort lebte sie unter entwürdigenden Bedingungen. Kurz nach der Befreiung durch die Rote Armee starb sie am 18. Mai 1945 an den Folgen ihrer Haft

Es ist einer der Stolpersteine, die Gunter Demnig in Plauen im Rahmen des gleichnamigen Kunstprojektes verlegt hat. Mit ihnen sollte man an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus denken, die in Plauen lebten und arbeiteten.

Selma Simon was born in Mannheim in 1870. In 1942 she had to buy with the rest of her assets a "secure age" in the Jewish city of Theresienstadt. There she lived under degrading conditions. Shortly after the liberation by the Red Army she died on 18 May 1945 as a result of her imprisonment

It is one of the stumbling blocks that Gunter Demnig has installed in Plauen as part of the art project of the same name. With them one should think of the victims of National Socialism, who lived and worked in Plauen.
