The Hochstein is a vulcano in the Eifel. It is placed between Ettringen and Bell. Near the top of the mountain is a cave where legend is been told.
The countess Genoveva of Brabant was accussed to commit adultery. She was condemned to death by her husband. But the hunter was had to kill her, spared her life. She lifed in a cave until she was able to proof her innocence.
The cave can be found on hiking on the dream-path 'Vier-Berge-Tour'. It is open all the time and no fee is to be paid. But as for all caves in Rhineland-Palatinate there is the rule that no caves must be entered in the winter-period.
