The J.P. Mascaro Company operates a solid waste and recycling service across the street from this dog park and when a young member of the Mascaro family was killed in a traffic accident, the Mascaros knew just what to do. Danielle Ruiz-Murphy was an animal lover so the Mascaro's worked with the Humane Society of Berks County to develop this combination dog park and horse rescue center.

In addition to the dog park, there is a 1500 foot walking trail for on leash dogs.

Two enclosures, one for small dogs and one for large dogs, are surrounded by 6 foot high wire fencing. Water is provided from dog bone shaped water fountains.
