"The Finger Lakes Trail System includes the main Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) from the Pennsylvania-New York border in Allegany State Park to the Long Path in the Catskill Forest Preserve. The main FLT is 575 miles long...The Trail System has been and continues to be built and maintained by 15 organizational and approximately 60 individual and family trail sponsors. All of these groups and individuals are volunteers. "
"Following these simple rules will help preserve the Finger Lakes Trail System for years to come."
""Overnight camping locations on or near the trail are shown on FLTC maps and in the document shown below. They may be lean-tos or other campsites along the Trail or public and private campgrounds near the trail. Campsites are generally primitive with only a fire ring. Water will be available if indicated on maps. In some cases, streams are nearby but not shown on FLTC maps. Do not depend on streams that are not designated as "reliable" on the FLTC map."
