Long Description:
The commemorative plaque is on the western side of the sandstone rectangular plinth that supports the 25 cm Minenwerfer Mortar, captured by the 17th Battalion in August 1918 and reads:

	    [Australia Remembers
		In Honour of
	 the Men & Women who served
	Australia in Time of Conflict
	     During World War II

Unfortunately more information about the Mortar was not at the site, but, more information can found for the Mortar, at the Australian War Memorial website: Speers Point
