The Detroit Science Center is located on John R Street in the heart of Detroit's revived cultural district. In December 1999, the Center broke ground on a $30 million expansion and renovation project. In July 2001, the Science Center reopened offering 110,000 square feet of exhibit space including an IMAX Dome and digital planetarium.
