This active rail location is a perfect spot to watch the trains pass by. Near Hwy. 95/Hwy. 2, cross the railroad tracks on Elmira Road and proceed south about 600 metres.

This is a great location to watch the Union Pacific pass on its way to Seattle, Washington.
There is easy access to the location, with ample parking and is a safe place for children and adults alike to watch the trains.
The Union Pacific starts its journey from Sandpoint, passes though Elmira to continue on to Bonner Ferry and points west. Trains pass through this area about 1 to 2 hours apart.
There is a nice grassy area and trees nearby, so bring your picnic lunch, relax and listen for the next train. There is also a Elmira town site sign stating is was established in 1909.
