Im 18. Jh. logierten hier die Werbeoffiziere. Daher erklärt sich der Name Werbhaus für den Gasthof zum Hl. Geist. Hier kehrten die Jungbauern des Westerwaldes an den Markttagen ein, wenn sie ihre Erzeugnisse abgesetzt hatten.
