There are a series of four benches, each with the same inscription, in front of the Janssen Conference Center on the Penn State Berks Campus. Search of Ancestry.com, show that John Bowman was born in 1918 and died in 1987. He is buried at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading. Search of the Penn State website show that John and his wife Elsa had provided an endowment fund to make possible lectures and presentations at Berks Campus by individuals of local, national and international stature to enhance the academic and cultural life of the campus.
