Der imposante Backsteinbau im neugotischen Stil stammt aus dem Jahr 1870. Es ist bereits das dritte Rathaus an dieser Stelle. Das Rathaus wird auch „Roter Löwe“ genannt, da der Löwe das Symbol für die Gerichtsbarkeit war und früher hier Gericht gehalten wurde. Bis heute ist hier der Dienstsitz des Stadtbürgermeisters.

The imposing brick building in neo-gothic style dates from 1870 and is already the third town hall on this site. The town hall is also called "Red Lion", because the lion was the symbol for the jurisdiction and in former times court was held here. It is still the official residence of the mayor of the city.
