At the northern (downhill) side of the Wisemans Ferry hotel are a pair of reclining lions atop the stone pillars.

These cream lions are lying on top of the 1.8 metre tall sandstone block pillars for the wrought iron gates that guards the Beer Garden of the historic Wisemans Inn Hotel (established in 1827). While the lions look identical, it is possible that they are mirror images of each other.
A small part of the Wisemans Inn Hotel is part of Solomon Wiseman's house (Cobham Hall) built in 1826, the year he married his second wife, 5 years after Jane, his first wife died from a fall. (
