The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
The north-south trail (with markers designating it as trail #24 or #25) was once a road dividing concession 5 from concession 6 in Nepean township. The eastbound trail (#25) at waypoint 24 B eventually leads to Old Richmond Road.
