In der Mühle findet man folgende Information:
• Älteste Mühle dieser Art im Rheinland, sie erhielt ihre erste Konzession durch Kurköln 1676, wurde vier Jahre später aber von einem Hochwasser vernichtet.
Details: Ehemalige Ölmühle, Bruchsteinbau, teilweise Fachwerk, Erdgeschoss mit Spitzboden, wohl 1778 bis 1948 in Nutzung, Wasserrad-Achse, Eichenkernholz Achteck 500 mm, Nabe gelagert im Speckstein erhaltenes Mahlwerk mit Kollergang,
• 1680 durch Hochwasser der Wied zerstört.
• Sie wurde gegen 1700 wieder aufgebaut und diente bis 1948 der Ölgewinnung. Vom Wiederaufbau 1700 stammt das aus Eichenholz konstruierte Triebwerk des Kollergangs.
Damit handelt es sich um die älteste im Rheinland erhaltene Ölmühle dieses Bautyps. Bis 1948 war sie in Betrieb und stellte Öle aus Leinsamen, Raps, Bucheckern und Mohn her.
Details: In der Ölmühle hat der Ölmüller Jacob Scheid etwa bis 1925 Öl aus Raps und Leinsamen geschlagen. Dann ruhte das Mühlenwerk fast 20 Jahre. Nach dem Krieg in schwerer Notzeit hat Jacob Scheid aus Bucheckern Speiseöl geschlagen. In enger Nachbarschaft zur Ölmühle befindet sich die seit 1646 erwähnte Getreidemühle Scheid
• 1976-79 und 2008 wurde die Ölmühle funktionsüberholt 1976 vom Verkehrsverein Waldbreitbach in Zusammenarbeit mit den "Bröpe Jonge", anderen Waldbreitbacher Vereinen und ehrenamtl. Helfern umfassend restauriert und zur Besichtigung freigegeben.

• 2017 umfassende Sanierung des Wasserrads durch den Verkehrsverein.
