Globe is a mining town dating to the late 19th century. This museum is located in the original Mine Rescue Station. One of the items on display is this Wilcox & Gibbs sewing machine dated to 1881. It was brought to Globe in 1906. The emblem on the machine states that it was manufactured expressly for Montgomery Ward Co, Chicago Illinos. It doesn't give a manufacturing date but the machine appears to have been well used. A card on the machine indicates:
