Plusieurs jeunes bénéficient à chaque année des services offerts par le Patro de Jonquière. Le chalet du Patro (Kéno-Patro) est financé en partie par le Club Kiwanis de Jonquière. Les membres du club kiwanis Jonquière ont également contribué grandement à la construction de ce chalet. Grâce à ses installations au bord du Lac Kénogami, été comme hiver, de nombreux jeunes ont la chance de s’amuser, profiter du plein air et vivre des expériences inoubliables.

Historique du Kiwanis dans la région
Kiwanis a débuté dans la région en 1954 par la fondation du club Saguenay dont les réunions hebdomadaires étaient tenues au Manoir du Saguenay. Les membres du club venaient de Chicoutimi, d’Arvida et de Jonquière.
En 1957, c’est le début du club Chicoutimi, parrainé par le club Saguenay. Par la même occasion, les Kiwaniens du club Saguenay venant de Chicoutimi sont transférés vers ce nouveau club. Leurs réunions se tenaient à l’hôtel Champlain. En 1965, c’est la création du club Arvida par le club Saguenay. Par la même occasion, le club Saguenay déménage à Jonquière puisqu’il existe maintenant un club à Arvida. Les membres du club Arvida se réunissaient au Manoir du Saguenay, alors que ceux du club Jonquière se réunissaient à l’Hôtel Jonquière.
Le club La Baie pour sa part, a été fondé en 1967 par le club Chicoutimi. Par la suite il y a eu la fondation des clubs Roberval, Alma et St-Prime. Le club Chibougamau a rejoint notre division (division 17) vers 1974. Ce club crée en 1957 appartenait auparavant à la division Abitibi.
Notre division, la division Laurentides (17), compte maintenant six clubs, c'est-à-dire Chicoutimi, Jonquière, La Baie, Alma, Roberval et Chibougamau. En 1995 les clubs Arvida et Saguenay ont été fusionnés sous le nom de Club Jonquière et le club St-Prime a été dissous en 2003. La division regroupe environ deux cents membres.
Il est bon de rappeler que les clubs Kiwanis sont des clubs de service dont le but premier est de venir en aide aux personnes défavorisés, principalement les enfants de zéro (0) à cinq (5) ans. À tous les ans chaque club organise des campagnes de levée fonds et un comité des œuvres voit à répartir l’argent recueilli à ceux qui en ont le plus besoin.
Notre objectif
L’objectif principal du Club Kiwanis de Jonquière est de venir en aide aux jeunes de moins de 18 ans.

History of Kiwanis in the region
Kiwanis started in the region in 1954 with the founding of the Saguenay Club, whose weekly meetings were held at Manoir du Saguenay. Club members came from Chicoutimi, Arvida and Jonquière.
In 1957, it's the beginning of the Chicoutimi club, sponsored by the Saguenay club. At the same time, the Kiwanians of the Saguenay club coming from Chicoutimi are transferred to this new club. Their meetings were held at the Champlain Hotel. In 1965, the club Arvida was created by the Saguenay club. At the same time, the Saguenay club moved to Jonquière because there is now a club in Arvida. The members of the Arvida club met at the Saguenay Manor, while the members of the Jonquière club met at the Hôtel Jonquière.
The club La Baie, for its part, was founded in 1967 by the Chicoutimi club. Subsequently, the Roberval, Alma and St-Prime clubs were founded. The club Chibougamau joined our division (division 17) around 1974. This club created in 1957 previously belonged to the division Abitibi.
