The old calaboose in Terral is today consigned to the lowly task of storing cans of paint and other chemicals, as opposed to keeping bad guys under lock and key.

This calaboose sits behind Martin's Grocery, within sight of the city water tower. There are no fees, and one can visit at any time, but the door is locked. The calaboose looks like its side windows were hastily covered with concrete at one point, and the gentleman who runs the Tiny Texas Jails website notes that the city owns it, along with a suspicion that the door may be have been recycled from a bank vault.
