Schulter is a town of about 500 residents. In the 1930's the population was approximately 650. This is a very nice campus constructed in 1937 which includes a Home Ec building, a classroom building with attached gymnasium, and a privy. All are constructed of rusticated native sandstone blocks. The campus is located on the west side of town at the intersection of Lavender Street and Flax Avenue.
Home Ec Building:
This is a one-story sandstone building with a gabled roof. The main entrance is facing west, under a small entrance gable. The windows are single with stone sills and lintels and are currently boarded up.
Classroom
This is a one-story sandstone building with red brick trim. The entrance faces north and has three bays separated with projecting stone pilasters. At the center is a single door with sidelights and a covered transom. Flanking the door are double window units under arches. The sills, lintels and arches, as well as belt courses around the building are made of red brick, giving the building a very interesting look. The school appears to still be in use.
Privy
The privy is located southwest of the classroom and is a one-story sandstone building with a gabled roof, and a projecting gabled entrance on either side. The windows are boarded or infilled with block, and the building is not in use at this time.
Gymnasium
The gymnasium is attached to the rear of the classroom, forming a T. It is a one-story sandstone building with a shallow barrel roof and a parapet on the south. Some windows are boarded up, but on the east side there are three sets of double windows and the building appears to be in use.
