The Portland Court House is an early Colonial Georgian style structure built of fine axed basalt ashlar in 1843 - 45 and exhibits the elegance of the Victorian Regency style, with classical elements including a symmetrical facade, four Doric columns supporting the portico, a classical pediment, sash windows. The building is still in use as a district magistrate's court.
