The retaining wall to the left has Rhett and Scarlett walking in a garden. The roses are real, not part of the painting. Also on the wall is a gazebo with big trees surrounding it, and a field of cotton.
On the side of the museum the characters are highlighted. Across the top in big white letters is "GONE WITH THE WIND". On the left Rhett and Scarlett are in a wagon surrounded by Confederate soldiers and in the background a town is burning. Next is Rhett dancing with Melanie Wilkes, then a portrait of Melanie. To the right and below is Mammy. Next is Tara before the war with a Scarlett's father below. Next to Tara is Scarlett in her famous green outfit made from drapes. Next is Rhett and Scarlett with her arms around his neck. Next is Twelve Oaks Plantation before the war, and below is Ashley Wilkes in his Confederate uniform. At the far end is Bonnie Blue. Each of the portraits has information about who played the character in the movie along with Academy Award information.
The retaining wall to the right of the building shows Tara, Scarlett's plantation home, after the war with boarded up windows and the three cabin next to it about to fall down. Across the sky is this Scarlett's line from the movie "...as God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.
