An old washing 'machine' on display outside Harleston Museum. It is located outside the museum and is free to view any time, even outside of museum opening hours.
No makers name immediately obvious. This may have been on a plate on the front of the 'tub'. A simple design, a galvanised bin with a wooden lid with a handle for mixing the wash - a spin cycle of 1600rpm would have been some task! On top is a simple mangle for wringing out the wet washing.
