He was born on November 27, 1850 in Rocky Hill, CT and died on November 17, 1921. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: SHEPPARD, CHARLES

• Place and date: At Cedar Creek, etc., Mont., 21 October 1876 to 8 January 1877
• Entered service at: St. Louis, Mo.
• Date of issue: 27 April 1877
Citation: Bravery in action with Sioux.
