The Buccarumbi Riverside Camping Reserve is located on the banks of the Nymboida River beside the Old Glen Innes Road. This road was the main access to the New England tablelands and the goldfields of Dalmorton until the Gwydir Highway was completed in 1960.

There isn't much in the way of natural shade here, and I didn't try to drive in a tent peg, as I was camping on private private property a few kilometres downstream for the three days of the June long weekend.

Buccarumbi Riverside Camping Reserve Rules

To ensure all visitors enjoy their stay please observe the following rules:

* 'Camping fees apply': NOTHING is below the area where 'Fees' has a space for an amount. Other sites state, Free-Camping
* Camp within the designated area
* No fires outside the designated camping area
* Take your rubbish with you
* No vegetation is to be removed or damaged
* Be considerate of others, keep noise to a minimum, especially after 9 pm
* Vehicles including motor bikes must not be driven around the camping area unless arriving at or leaving the Camping Reserve
* Firearms are not permitted
* Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times
* Dogs must be registered and on a lead at all times.

Like a lot of NSW, this area has not had a great deal of rain, and there was a notice on the toilets to please bring along your own bucket of water to flush the toilet - that could be from the nearby river, and didn't have to be drinking water.
